Fancy buying a t-shirt?

Keep an eye out for the specially produced t-shirts that were created to mark the tournament.

Eating near the Mardyke sports grounds:

For a quick snack and general groceries …. make the 5 minute journey to O’Reilly’s garage on the Carrigrohane Road at the base of the Cork County Hall.

Ramen at Dennehy’s cross is a favourite for college students where Asian street food is on the menu.

The Kingsley Hotel does some fine lunches and evening meals.

If on foot, you can always grab some to eat in any of the restaurants and café’s on the main UCC campus.

Evening Dining:

Going for lunch??? A key problem with answering this question is where to start… Cork has many fine places to eat and a bit of local knowledge goes a long way. Always ask a local as to where they go to eat and you won’t go wrong!!!

I’ll begin by keeping you away from the various franchises that are in every city as once you’ve been in one … you’ve been in them all! (I’ll also ignore the many fine bars who offer great lunches and evening meals since this website will also have many under-age readers ….(just to be politically correct!))

Lunch upstairs in the English Market is an enjoyable treat.

Nash’s of 19 Princes Street is a must-do for the visitor …. although it can be very busy!

The Tung Sing Chinese restaurant is a Cork icon.

Scoozi’s restaurant just off Academy street is one of the busiest in the city for all the right reasons!

For a local chipper …. Lennox’s of Barrack Street, KC’s in Douglas or any Dino’s are what could best be described as ‘Pure Cork’!!!

If you have a little more to spend on a good meal … consider the Electric on the South Mall.
